Meet the Team - Walkinstown Dental Care

Dr Darren Cromey

Darren was born in Bangor, Co.Down, and went to School at Sullivan Upper School, Holywood. He then attended Glasgow Dental School where he graduated in 1999. He worked in an NHS/private practice in Glasgow for 5 years before moving back to Ireland in 2004.

On his return he worked in Dalkey, Harcourt Street and Ashbourne. Darren bought the Walkinstown Dental Practice in 2006 and redeveloped the practice to appear less intimidating and allow patients to have an altogether different dental experience.

"We pride ourselves on looking after nervous patients and those who haven't been to the dentist for a number of years - sometimes up to 20 years! I want to regain patients' confidence in dentistry."

Dr Cromey is particularly interested in Orthodontics (straightening of teeth) and cosmetic dentistry such as veneers, crowns and implants.

Away from the practice Darren is a keen golfer, plays 5-a-side in Tallaght, as well as enjoying tennis and squash. He is married to Susan and they live in Terenure.

They are delighted to announce the birth of their first child, a beautiful baby girl, Layla Elizabeth Cromey, on 24th November 2009! She was just under 10 pounds! Mother and Layla are doing very well.

Ciara Micklethwaite

Ciara was born in Leeds but has lived in Dublin for 17 yrs. She loves her job and thinks that Darren is the best boss ever!! She enjoys football (a massive Leeds United fan), dancing and singing.

Trisha Maher

Trisha is the new at the practice but she has a lot of experience in nursing. She graduated from Dublin Dental Hospital in 1996. She then worked in general practice in the city center for 10 years including a year at Our Lady's Hospital, Crumlin.

She has recently returned to work and has a beautiful daughter, Heather.

Isobel Keyes

Isobell Keyes qualified as an hygienist from University College Cork in 2004 following her Dental Nursing Certification from Dublin Dental Hospital in 2000. Her experience working with children in Our Lady’s Hospital Crumlin with oncological / haematological patients, cleft lip and palate cases etc. is an indication of her professional, but gentle manner with patients. Isobell has also been on the teaching staff in the Hygienist School in Dublin Dental Hospital.

Isobel won the ISDH in 2004 with her Cardiac Audit and was invited to present in Sweden and then at the HBH on Peadiatric Oncology in Vienna.

She recently got married in Rathfarnham.

Teresa Walsh

Teresa grew up in Cork, and after leaving St Brogan's College she worked as a theatre nurse for an oral surgeon before attending Cork University Dental Hospital to attain her National Certificate in Dental Nursing in 2001.

Teresa progressed on to University College Cork where she recieved honours in her Diploma in Dental Hygiene in 2004.

She currently lives in Clane, Co. Kildare.
