Why choose Walkinstown Dental Care for Braces?

At Walkinstown Dental care we will carry out an extensive oral health assessment to ensure that you are dentally fit for Orthodontic treatment. We need to make sure all teeth are disease free and the gums healthy. This will provide optimum conditions for the best result. During the initial visit, your dentist will help you decide on the most appropriate Orthodontic procedure for your teeth.

We are experts

Our dentist has undergone worldwide specific training for the Inman Aligners, Invisalign, Six Months Smiles Standard and Masters Levels, Six Month Lingual braces, Damon Clear braces and alternative cosmetic orthodontics.

We are affordable

At Walkinstown Dental Care, we allow payment to be made by installments as you progress through your course of treatment. We know price is an important consideration for you. There is no way to accurately answer this question without first coming in for a consultation. At that initial meeting the dentist will examine you and take xrays etc if required. From this he will be able to give you an accurate figure of cost. In our practice the average investment is in the region of €2900 for fixed orthodontic braces, all prices include your examination, all necessary impressions, records, radiographs, all aligners, any refinements needed and retainers.

There are many factors that determine the cost of your Orthodontic treatment which include how long your treatment plan will last, how hidden you want your braces to be and any other specific treatment details as prescribed by your dentist or orthodontist.

We are gentle

The way Orthodontic treatment work is to introduce constant but steady pressure on your teeth. This results in you feeling gentle and light pressures on the teeth. You may experience some discomfort for the first few weeks as you get used to the necessary pressure exerted by the appliances, but this would not generally be described as being like dental pain. No drilling or injections are required for this procedure. All patients will admit that the end result achieved more than makes up for the little disconfort.

We take time to explain

Your teeth will experience movement when the arch wire (which is the thin metal wire that runs from the bracket on one tooth to the bracket on the adjacent tooth etc) puts pressure on the brackets and teeth. Braces exert constant low pressure, which over time, move teeth into their proper positions. When braces put pressure on your teeth, the periodontal membrane stretches on one side and is compressed on the other. This causes the tooth to loosen slightly and to move in a controlled fashion. The bone then grows in to support the tooth in its new position. Technically, this is called bone remodelling.

We are pioneers

Lingual braces are the latest development in orthodontic treatment. These fixed appliances are set up in the States and are attached to the inside of your teeth. Dr Cromey is the only dentists in Ireland to provide short term lingual braces - average treatment time is 9 months.
