Often when a patient has severe wear from grinding/bruxism, adding composite to bring the tooth back to what it probably looked like is tolerated surprisingly well by the patient, despite initially feeling like it is interfering with their bite.
It will normally take 3-4 weeks but gradually the bite settles and the patient is normally delighted they persevered. The filling also closed a space the patient didn't like.
